During my childhood, my interest in drawing was encouraged by my father, a renowned seascape artist. As a European immigrant to this country, holding 3 jobs, he enrolled me in an expensive art instruction course to foster my talent. Today my father would be proud to know that I am benefiting from his sacrifices. During my college years he valued my opinion and paid me a percentage of his sold artwork in exchange for my honest opinions and critique of his art. That taught me so much about color and composition.
After many years of flying internationally for Pan American World Airways, I returned to school for a degree in education to teach children with special needs. I quickly discovered the power of art in the classroom and incorporated it in every subject across the curriculum. With art, there is no right or wrong answer. I embraced the students’ creativity and showcased their work on every available wall in the school. Their self-confidence, verbal skills, and above all their willingness to learn skyrocketed. What a transformation!!
Several years into my retirement I decided to create art for my newly constructed dream home. Consequently, I began a journey of a renewed sense of purpose and excitement to begin every new day with a goal and a project. I fulfilled and embraced a dream that laid dormant for so many years.
I create abstract artwork that is intuitive and expressive, communicating my deepest emotions through a limited palette, movement, and form. Nature, and its beautiful hues and shapes often emerge in my paintings. Having come from previous professions that required me to be precise, and accurate, (teacher, and international flight attendant) - abstract art allows me a way to explore spontaneity and the unexpected through a process of intuition, improvisation, and experimentation thus releasing former restrictions.
Each unique, sophisticated piece I create comes from my love of painting and only when I achieve the perfect piece am I satisfied. I often experiment with collage, various acrylic paints and techniques until I achieve an unplanned outcome. Discovering different marks emerging and uncovering surprises under each layer is like opening a present and wondering what is inside.

My paintings incorporate many layers of translucent color with infusions of light, earthy forms and textures which create a subtle complexity. Many of my pieces use a limited palette and they are part of my collection called Natures Earth and Jewells. My latest collection incorporates vibrant jewel tone colors in nature. I incorporate collage using various papers, coffee filters, inks, acrylics, oil pastels and graphite on canvas and wood boards.

I reached out to Katy to share my art with her and was so overwhelmed with emotion at her caring and kindness. With all her orders she sends uplifting , inspiring messages to embrace a brighter life with love and positivity. She inspired me to create 10x10 canvas inspiration abstracts.
As an artist I strive for my pieces to connect emotionally to the viewer and invoke tranquility or an uplifting energy while sparking deep feelings and thought. Abstract art leaves room for imagination and questions and I want my art to offer a personal interpretation and emotional experience to those who engage with it. The openness of abstract art is what makes it endlessly compelling and active participation, is what makes abstract art so powerful
I am a member of Alpharetta Art Guild as well as Cumming Art Guild in Ga. My art has been showcased in Galleries, Emory Hospital, Avalon, Alpharetta, custom homebuilders and new construction homes, juried spotlight shows , medical offices and private homes.
